Lignum vitae” is Latin for “wood of life”, and derives its name from its medicinal uses; lignum vitae both leaves and resin has been used to treat a variety of medical conditions from coughs to arthritis, it prevents the building up of uric acids in joints.

Direction : 1 tablespoon to 12 oz water, shakes, fruit juices, can be sprinkled on foods , vegetable, ecc.

 

 

 

The Lignum Vitae (Tree of Life) also called guayacan or guaiacum and in parts of Europe known as Pockholz, from trees of the genus Guaiacum. The trees are indigenous to the Caribbean and the northern coast of South America and have been an important export crop to Europe since the beginning of the 16th century. The wood also has seen widespread historical usage in mortars and pestles and for wood carvers’ mallets; . It is a stunning tree grow very slowly and are small in stature which produces beautiful blue flowers, either solitary or in clusters. These flowers have five petals and usually measure just over a centimeter across. The capsules produced are a dull yellow that open to reveal a bright red fruit that add interest and color to the tree throughout the year. Very hard wood. The fruit attracts songbirds and this coastal small tree is well adapted to wind, salt and tough coastal conditions in nearly frost free locations.
